Center Console Reassembly
 

I'm a complete newbie, and I've made a very silly mistake. I disassembled the entire center console to replace the shifter bushings, and I was not careful about noting which parts went where. Now that I'm reassembling the console, I'm not sure how to put it all back together. Specifically, I'm not sure which screws are supposed to go where. Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

Could you post some pictures of the pieces and the screws you're talking about?

Go to this article in the TECH section. It's about installing a short shift kit, but has a section that describes to center console removal (ergo reverse for install).

If memory serves, it's only 3 screws that hold the main part if the console down to the center tunnel. One in the back, one on each side towards the front. Then the front part of the console slides under the dashboard and around the main console part that you just fastened down to the tunnel. The front console part fastens to the main console with 4 screws, two on each side.

I am a complete newbie and I have taken apart the center console a few times, with the faithful Bentley manual at my side. Its the one book that no Porsche owner should be without.
