Windshiled washer system- Simple Clean Solution
The guy who owned my car before apparently lost the reservoir in the trunk, and I threw away the junk inside the fender because it was too bad.
I am thinking about getting a reservoir and running a simple plumbing with a pump preferably using factory wiring. I am sure bunch of you cats have done this before. Any pointers before I go my way. Thanks bunch. Double thanks if you post pictures. |
I simply ripped out everything ( including the headlight washer pump) save the intensive wash reservoir which sits beside the brake fluid reservoir on the '86 and hooked it up to the regular washer pump.Hope this helps.
Cheers, Johan |
This very topic was discussed (again) last week. There are now several threads out there on the subject.

I know I've answered this question in at least a half dozen threads here and I'm sure I didn't reply in all of them. Have a nice day. JR |
Well said!

I took a look and found more than 20 windshield washer threads where I've responded. Here are three more that have enough info to answer your question:

I hope that you did not intend to be so harsh. Most of us are just enthusiasts with far less forum/Internet experience than you have with some 12,000 posts on this forum alone over he past 10 years. I, for one, do appreciate your knowledge. Just please lighten up and just share. Johan |
Not pileing on Javadog due to the great authority he is on many things 911. But it is a reminder to all of us that many are not interweb savy, don't have backgrounds in engineering or IT, but are just occasional users.
My dad comes to mind when I had to explain what Craig's List was and it is a great way to get rid of stuff you would normally take to the dump but put "Free" on it and people will beat your door down to get it. He asked how that was possible and I said, ask the Google because it knows all becuase sure as s*** I couldn't figure it out. |

Not trying to be a dick, just saying that I've learned a ton by checking out the massive archive of threads on all things 911 here. I have to say that our host has set things up really well when it comes to the search function and it's hugely useful. Although I can understand that some may wish to not use it, for whatever personal reasons they have. . . No worries there. It's just that those people are missing out by not taking advantage of the knowledge they could access. After all, guys like Grady aren't around any more to reply to new threads, but their wisdom lives on in the archives. Good luck with your project! |

Sometimes it is wise to keep quite if you do not have anything positive to say. I am sorry if I am too harsh here. |
You can see my post here, starting #22 for what I did with my 964. The 911 part is very similar. I basically deleted the huge tank in the fender, picked up the intensive tank, wired that into the huge tank wiring for the pump, used the OEM mount flange which was already there. My car did not have the intensive system stock, so this worked fine plumbed into the washer tubing. if you has the intensive system you'll need to cap off one set of pipes, they are 2 different systems but connect at the washer nozzles. Look at the PET and you can see.
