Calling Bahama Yellow Experts!
Hi all, I'm having my car painted Bahama Yellow but there are two paint codes, 6605 from 1966 and 6805 from 1968 onwards.
Does anyone know the difference and / or have photos they could post? Here's a couple of photos of the colour I'm going for. 6605 or 6805? Thanks in advance. ![]() ![]() |

The call out number for Bahama Yellow is the same for all years, "05". The "66" and "68" are year of manufacture. The color is the same.
Recreating the exact color is impossible with the new paint systems.

Thanks for the reply Kevin. So the formula is the same for both codes? Why is recreating the exact color impossible?

I use this site as a reference for many things color related. Sometimes there is a difference with colors of the same name. That doesnt' appear to be the case in this one.

That is one beautiful color! I believe I have Porsche color chips from both of these at home and can check when I get back on Friday.

I had no trouble getting the color mixed using single-stage Glasurit (6805)

I probably shouldn't say "impossible". After doing two cars Bahama Yellow I'd still get people having different opinions on what is the correct color. If you can get Glasurit single stage ( as blee stated) then that is IMHO the best paint and the most accurate formula.

So after a fair amount of research I went with Transtar code 6805. No mixing required to get the result and I think it's perfect.
What do you think Bahama Yellow fans? ![]() |
