It happened again v 2.0
Well.
It happened again. After getting the Euromeister 17" 7' and 9"ers mounted up with some sweet Falken Azenis 215/45-17 and 245/45-17 200 tread wear gummi Bears, it started to rain on the left coast. I know it's blasphemy, but the combination of wet asphalt, leaves, running water and plenty of road oils sings the siren song of stupidity. The song was loud and irresistible, went out back and woke the mangy cur out of its slumber, collected a few ideas and pulled out to sample the roads of Upper Santa Cruz County. ![]() I will say the roads were wet from the continuing downpour, and the wind spread a nice spread of pine, fir and other tree leaves for the driving pleasure of those who dared. With about a 1/4" of rain per hour coming down, it was very nice. Sliding in and drifting out of 2nd gear corners was a memory to be cherished. When I am on my death bed these will be some of the scenes that will be playing while the hot nurse is giving me a sponge bath.....I digress. Now a truly first world problem, the Falkens have too much traction, even in the rain. I was thinking of wiring up some headlight washer nozzles and aiming them at the rear tires to spray a mist of Simple Green at the rear gummies when slow speed drifting is desired. Thought a mirror left/right switch hooked up to the horn/Simple Green spray rig might be the answer. This stuff got in my head because I was listening to AC/DC while road testing the new tire combos.

That's never cheap......whereas the Simple Green, set up couldn't top the $38.93 bar.

I guess it's still better than hydro planing and spinning 720 degrees and hitting another vehicle.
Granted that was a Honda Pilot my friend was driving, but still... Just wait until track/Autocross season for the slipping and sliding. Stay safe out there. |

Rain Run!! If you don't feel like you're lucky to be alive when you get home, then...you don't get it.
That's how we roll. You're on the "Highway" brother. |
