Hey recently bought 911c 1979 3.0L coupe. After a week my alternator broke down.
![]() I found out the alternator model is made in France: S.E.V Marchal 71233002 A14V 70A(uploaded picture) Im been searching the web, i can only find this type to be really expensive and few of them, aprox: 1000-1500$ Is there any other alternator that can replace this one? Seems that the regulator/valeo brushes has been brushed down. Can this one be replaced? what type of regulator brand/part is this? ![]() |

Ravik, pelicanparts.com sells them for $400-$650. They sell remanufactured and "genuine porsche" ones for your car. See link below.
Of course, if you know how to rebuild one yourself, you could do that. That's beyond my pay grade. Here in the states I paid an electric shop $110 US to rebuild mine. I'm sure there's a stout Norwegian in your area who knows how to do this. ;-) Pelican Parts - European Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche • BMW • Mercedes • Volkswagen • Audi • Saab • Volvo • MINI

The Valeo on this page is what I replaced mine with. Been fine for 4 years now.
Note you will need a new washer as the old one won't fit. You will also need to notch the air diffuser a little. 1979 Porsche 911 SC Coupe - Charging System & Battery - Page 1
