Door lubing? - Where and how?

Rather mundane question. But after driving another Board members car, I noticed how EASY his doors opened and closed. My doors felt REALLY heavy compared to his. He mentioned he just had them lubed.

So what is involved with lubing the doors and what do I use to lube them?

I tried spraying some Lithium grease on the hinges and door stop with no noticeable results.

Suggestions?

TIA

You have to take the door panel off and lube the door latch cable and mech. All the moving parts need to be lubed. It makes a world of difference.

I have to take the door panel to lube the hinges?

Or I have to take the door panel off to lube the door stop mechanism?

I think the latter.

I think the latch is good.

It's just swinging the door open, is when it feels heavy.

TIA

Ummm, do what Blown says, and also lube the bits and pieces of the door handle. This makes a world of difference with how hard it is to squeeze the handle

I put 3 in 1 oil on the hinges. Good idea doing this maintenance job as I once had to replace the bushes in the hinges - the job from hell.

there should be a hole/orfice in the center section of the hinge. put a needle tip on your grease gun and give it a squirt.

edit..... any lube will attract dirt and dust. wipe off the excess.
i use marine fogging oil for door locks around the house. works pretty good.
