Relay required in our 911s for Hella Supertone horns?

Just installed a pair using the Perrin bracket on my son's WRZ Impreza (fast little sled!). In doing so, we denied the last bit of juice/Db by using the existing trigger wire and not a relay with direct battery juice to the horns (there is no concern of current draw melting the loom - we checked). Sounds very, very loud.

To increase space in my wheel well for additional cooling I had thought about installing these in place of my stock trumpet horns. Not finding any info. in our library here for the need/no need of a relay so wondering if anyone has done this on their 911.

Thanks!

I know a Carrera has a horn relay standard and I believe the SC does also. Check relay 4.

I've had them direct wired into the old horn connection for 4 years, no problems - and no additional relay or other wiring. They have saved me a couple times when inattentive drivers have failed to see me. The volume is great and gets attention.

Yep, you already have a horn relay stock:

No need for another one.

Just installed them in my Targa and what a difference! I much prefer them to my old horns (which only had one trumpet working so it gave a weak blat). These could wake up the most brain dead driver out there.

May have to get some for my other cars as well.

I bought the PIAA version. Direct wire, work great!! Nice and small, so doesn't block the cooler.
