Question Can I find/buy just the needle?

Hello

I wonder if itīs possible to find just the needle for this tach? Or something similar

Wow. Strange problem.

I would think the folks at north Hollywood speedometer or Palo Alto speedometer would have replacements.

This would be a vdo part, so unlikely you can buy a spare one.

They could also fix it.

Holy cow! I never believed the old saying that if you use it too much it will fall off!

Any of the gauge repair places sell them.

I'll sell u a useable whole tach and keep urs for other parts. By the time u replace needle and trim ring plus shipping twice I can have this at ur door. What yr car? Call me. 706-392-2580. Regards. Mark

My '67 912 has the same issue. It was already broken when I bought the car so I have no idea how it happened.

The torque on the mighty 912 power plant traveled right up the cable, the violent acceleration of the needle caused metal fatigue. Weren't the needles made of titanium, to try and counter the issue?
