Coat hook position
I am trying to find the correct spot for the coat hooks for my '78 Targa. When they re-upholstered my interior, they did not install the coat hooks and I have no idea where they should be located. Can someone provide their location? Thanks, Stephen

I did this job myself and purposefully lef off the coat hooks, if I recall you should be able to feel where they go. I will dig around later and see if I can find my photos of the bare targa bar.
After all that work i couldnt imagine driving a screw through the vinyl.

Im guessing there is a layer of foam over the coat hook mount. Accuracy will be critical for you.
See post 10, that should give you a good idea of where to find the mount: Targa bar

As I suspected, the hole in the vinyl they created looks to be too low.

I took this picture of mine, hope it helps. Try using a pick to locate the hole, through the hole that was already created. That way you don't create another hole in the wrong place. I don't know exactly where the coat hook mounts internally, but based on the way it looks, the hole is level with the first line of holes in the vent, or maybe a little lower; aligned between the first and second rows of holes.
