Recommend RSR Backdate body shop

Looking for recommendations on shops that specialize in body work, ie welding/fitting, to RSR backdate 89 911. I'm familiar with some of them from posting on this forum. But some seem backlogged.

I've actually got an 87 that's been backdated by PO.....930 steel rear fenders..... front fiberglass fenders and hood and bumpers and rockers. It's been done "ok" but the rockers are cracking and the bumpers are held on in places with zipties.

Looking to "correct" these to steel front fenders and rockers and either improve on fittment of bumpers or also do them in steel.

Any recommendations helpful.

WHere are you?

I agree, what part of the country are you in? There are some really quality shop on the east coast but that won't do you any good if you are not interested in traveling to them.

I think you are in Jersey right? If so there is a good shop in DE. PM me if you want the details.

Isn't it easier to do a 74 RSR? Just as cool as the longhood version.

I was just at a shop in Newark, Del the other day, Brandywine Motorwerks. They let me walk through their shop for about an hour, total Porsche porn!!! Everything from a 962 they prep to backdates in various stages, total Restos.... Super nice guys that are solely devoted to Porsches. They'll be doing some welding work for me.

barzini,

If you are located in the East Coast and a few hundred miles from Newark, Delaware
check RS Werk. I was surprised when I paid them a visit a few months ago and never expected how big their operation. Scott McKeown is the owner and a very like able person. This is his phone #302-547-1555 or call their website number.

Thanks for the input so far!

Don't care about location as transportation is relatively cheap to "get it right".

I'm in the midwest by Chicago.

We can do a back-date for you or fix an existing job gone badly. If interested shoot me an email (no PM they are flaky) and I can give you any info you wish and pictures of projects in process and completed. I've been on the board for 20 years so easy to contact.

Mickey - You were actually at RS-Werks. Brandywine was a previous shop at that location. We do have fun and work on some great cars. Looking forward to seeing your 912 at the shop. It's a pretty car. Mark

Oops, thanks Mark. My bad on the name, I was told you had just moved in to that location from another and saw the previous shop name on the door.

All mid-Atlantic Porsche folks (though not limited to), if you're looking for a shop in the area, theses guys know what's up!
Mark, looking forward to working with you guys, I've got metal coming in Tuesday so I'll be in touch soon.

This! I was at his shop day before last, some awesome stuff coming out of there. I had the opportunity to spend some time with him, great guy.

Send it to Axiom Motorsports in Inglewood, CA. That's their specialty. Some big LA shops actually subcontract the job to them.

Send it to me. I'd love to build a 2.8 RSR replica but it would have to be Gulf Racing blue.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1451871696.jpg

I'd at least make an inquiry to Accumoto outside of Madison. They're in your neck of the woods. Not sure if they do actual RS builds or not but they do some incredible work. I saw two of their cars at Road America last summer.
