"DAD" racing seats (Sparco??)

My seats are torn and need to be recovered.

I was emailed this ebay add from a friend which has some "DAD" racing seats which cost $399 for the pair, which is less that what it would cost me to re-cover my two stock seats.

The subject says "Sparco", I don't think they are made by Sparco?
Has anyone ever seen or used these seat before?
Is it just another case of you get what you pay for?
Will they be all torn in 6 monthes?

inquiring minds want to know.....

Here is the ebay link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1873332215

re: DAD seats

I bought a pair of these seats: Dynamic Auto Design (otherwise "DAD"), and like them very much. They are very comfortable and supportive and each seat weighs three pounds less than a standard 911 seat. No tears yet, but it's only been about a month that I've had them. The plus feature is the seats bolt right in - no additional adaptors, etc. are needed. Customer service is good, too.

At risk of sounding like a plug, I nonetheless don't think you can go wrong with these seats.

You'd get that money back if you ever sold the seats, easily. Used Recaros keep some value, no-name seats not so much.
Brian: Where can you find SRDs for 600 for the pair?? I am in the need. Thanks

DD74,

What type of material are the seats made of? I assume it is a fabric of sorts. Is it a thick pile? or feels thin and won't last?

Does the reclining mechanism have fine steps? I like the stocks seats with the infinite adjustability in the reclining angle.

Do they recline forward for rear seat entry?

How does the padding where you sit compare to the stock seats? Less, more padding?

Any pics installed in the car?

How tall and how much do you weight? I'm 6' @ 180lbs

Thanks,

Tony

You can get Recaro SRD's from a company in Michigan for $450, they are black with red logo and stitching. Bought one yesterday, they still have some left in stock.

Yeah, I forgot that part...

Mine were $399 per pair, as was posted earlier. The price played a BIG part in my decision to purchase these seats.

DAD seats' photo

Since I've been getting requests to post a photo of the seats, I'll try and get my act together tomorrow, and get some shot. I've had bad luck posting photos before, so bear with me. I promise to get them up before Christmas.

Photos of the DAD seats

Okay: with my novice ability, I have posted photos of the DAD seats inside my car. I've also posted a quick shot of my car.

Here's the link:

B. Lane

Very comfortable, yet very firm support, too. And they work great with standard seatbelts. Complete bolt in as well.

I can't say enough about them. They look much better in person, too. Brings up the whole interior, as you can see.

David (DD74), I need to correct you on the seat install. I had to fabricate adaptor plates to install them in your car. They're not a bolt-in.

They didn't look fabricated at all. Guess it shows your craftsmanship Can you explain to these guys how you fabricated the adaptors?

I'm sold --- I'm ordering a pair this weekend. Were the adaptor plates difficult to create?

You can't beat that price. I saw a pair the other day in a honda and they looked great. I'm getting a pair for my Saab.
