Fuchs refinishing (anodizing/painting) EAST COAST?

Ok, I know there are tons of posts on the subject of Fuchs but didn't find much on the subject of anyone on the East Coast that does this work. Hoping there may be some other sources for this work on the East Coast instead of shipping to the usual fellows in CA. Being on the East Coast, by the time I ship and have the anodizing and painting done I question if it's worth it to ship them back and forth or find someone more local. I'm finding there aren't many options. I can drop off a set (5) wheels to Wheel Collision in PA who does do the old fashion anodizing and painting method and they are within $7.00 of shipping both ways and having them refinished(anodized/painted) on the West Coast.

#1) Does anyone know of anyone else on the East Coast that is credible & capable of refinishing Fuchs by anodizing/painting equal to the CA guys?
#2) Any Pelican use Wheel Collision for refinishing Fuchs?
I've used WC to repair newer wheels and they did an awesome job, just never used them for redoing classic Fuchs.
Thanks!

I'd ask to see samples of their anodized wheels

I've seen the amazing work that Weidman does. To me he is the benchmark.

Any east coast options? I recall somebody in Georgia came up but I can't find the post.

Checking out a candidate next week. Classic Liveries (fka wagenwerks) in Roswell, GA. Ferrari/Porsche guys around here say he (Bryson) is the real deal and knows Fuchs well. Will update this thread with what I learn.

Sounds promising. I've also been looking for an East Coast alternative...

I believe Shaun Budka @ Tru6 now does polishing and anodizing, he's in MA.

I agree. I shipped my wheels from Ohio to Weidman's & I'm glad I did. They look great, & I know they are "right" - paint color/shine, paint application, anodization (is that a word?).

I now have three sets of wheels to send out for RSR finishing. To be honest, I'm worried about the wait from Weidman and Reed. I know they are awesome but the frustrated threads on here about communication and time regarding both of them really isnt something i want to deal with. It just doesn't sound like I have an option.

I've been working with Alex Magro for a "new" set of Fuchs. He sources them around the East Coast and refinishes them in his shop in the Tampa area. He seems to be meticulous for detail and part numbers, etc and that has taken several months, actually since early July! His email address is jamagro@email.com You can also search his name on this forum. I'm satisfied with the price of his work for hard to find 15x6 wheels and refinishing yours should be even more reasonable.

My four wheels are supposed to be delivered today. Here's an example of his work. He sent me photos of the actual four but I seem unable to upload them for some reason.

I'll let you know how they turn out.

Best,

Tom

Well it's late, almost 8pm here and the wheels arrived. I opened one box, (nicely packed), and the wheel was impeccable. I'll post a photo when they are all unpacked. But it looks every bit as nice as the photo above. These things are really light too!

Alex Magro done good so far as I have inspected!

So to be clear, he hunted the wheels down and refinished them too? And yes, more pics. Many close ups.

Thank you Lewis, I appreciate it. I'm focusing on bright dip+anodize window frames more than wheels but I'm working on these at the end of the month and a pair of gas burners as well. Incredibly light wheels those are.

That's apparently how he does it; at least that's what he told me. I presume he can refinish anybody's existing wheels too, the original question of this thread.

Still haven't unpacked all the boxes yet, but when I get that done, I'll take some photos.

Hi Sean,

For a set of customer provided 16" Fuchs - 7" & 8" - what are you looking for on turn around time for a standard anodized rim and factory black centers for mid 80's 3.2 911.

Thanks,
Steve

I just got a set of refinished Fuchs back from Alex Magro and they are awesome. The price was quite reasonable and the turn around time was very fast.

I have some pictures up on the last page of my thread and a link to a thread about Alex Magro

Here are the photos of Fuchs wheels I received from Alex Magro yesterday. The photos don't do them justice and I can't explain the yellow hue in a couple of shots; it most likely from the wooden floor. All were bright chrome. Stamps on the back were all of the same part number and each had their little fox stamp but some were hard to see, some very clear. IMHO a super job.

Tom

Hi Steve. Right now I'm at about a 3-4 week turnaround time for anything other than an RSR finish
