Da red light in the window.....
Was doing some "spirited" driving last night.....the radar detector was on, the eye on the rear view mirror was on and I'm in the #1 lane.......In LALA Land CA, not many people understand that the #1 lane is a PASSING lane.
Texas, go figure, has it down and most of the eastern states as well....anyways, some idjut was doing 60 in the PASSING lane and I gets up behind his Honda econobox buttocks. Next lane over is a Plymouth mom wagon....a quick flash, Honda dummy looks up from his cell phone and latte and finally moves over......I tap the loud pedal and my new 3.6 powered SC zooms by..... I get over to the #2 lane and settle in at 70ish +......look in the mirror and a red light in the window of a FORD Crown Vic is zooming through traffic.....awsheisterhausen no radar alarm, maybe I can sweet talk this one, I am only doing 72 at the moment. I pull over and get out of the car with my license reg and insurance card.....the Vic keeps going....pulls off the highway and screams thru the intersection.......YEAAAAAAAHAAAA, I clean my shorts and crank it back up. There is a God.....8^) His name is Winchell's Donuts..... Z  |
Go buy a ticket
with that kind of luck, either buy a lottery ticket or hit the loud
pedal heading for Vegas.:D |
Why did you pull over? Doesn't even seem like he wanted you to...
|
Never Ever Ever get out of the car during a traffic stop. That is a quick way to get a gun pointed at you. I like my cops to be comfortable and relazed. Hands way up high on the steering wheel, interior light on and dont pull your licence out until you are asked!

Cornpanzer,
Sounds like you could write us all a FAQ about getting pulled over for speeding.:) |
I live in a non-big city area.....I ALWAYS get out of the car.
If they shoot my hairyaazz, fine. I find that confronting them and being upfront as opposed to the meek coward works to my advantage. I have walked on MANY weak tickets....IF I am pulled over for doing something STUPID, then I roll over.... I work in that field as well. Just because I am getting pulled over does NOT mean I lose my rights. |
After riding my old Harley for 3 decades or so....I have a healthy respect for the law enforcement people.
It's normal to be stopped on the road when riding a full chopper...we stand out more than you would think. First rule....imagine yourself in the position of the cop....if he can't see your hands...you must have a gun. Second....never move fast....wait until he tells you what he wants....say "yes sir (or maam)...and then tell him EXACTLY what you are about to do. Never, never, never dive for the passenger side floor looking for lost documents. Try to lull the officer into a comfortable feeling. Your best bet to get out of a ticket....depends on the cop...don't try to be his buddy...don't cry or act like a 3 year old. He has a tough job...help him do it quickly and efficiently. For myself...lots of years in the military...I say "sir" automatically....I look directly at him....I answer questions nicely...I always keep my hands on the bars (or steering wheel) until he has his eyes on mine. If the cop is relaxed...he is more likely to cut you a break (even though you're guilty as sin!!!) LOL Bob |
