Hi,
Does anyone know a good place to buy the sheetmetal tray that the front windshield sits in. to replace a rotted one in a 1970 911T ?

If you can weld, and can do a bit of body work, often you can get the type, including a similar shape from an auto wrecker for very little money... Lots of brands have similar shapes of metal that you may be able to use...You can use the metal to make the piece that you require if you know how to cut, hammer and weld it to the shape you require.

e.g. The outer edge of a wheelwell, from a varity of brands, may be used to make a replacement when repairing a rust repair etc.

You just have to be able to have a good look around a wreckers yard to see if you can find a similar piece...In your case, the wrecker would likely have to cut it out for you with their saw...You would then have to do the shaping and welding that would be required.

If you want one custom made, there are numerous small shops that make the sheet metal parts for heating and airconditioning contractors. Try phoning one of these type of contractors in your area to find out which shop they use. This type of shop may be able to make it for you.
