Preserving Cruise Control Actuating Cable

While looking for a cruise control cable assembly (P/N 911.617.124.05) for my '88 Carrera, I came across several Pelican threads on how to repair the assembly with zip ties. Hmmmm? Two things: 1) it looks like the cable assembly is NLA, and, 2) The most common failure point looks like a victim of prolonged exposure to vibration plus engine compartment heat. Not much can be done about the heat but by giving the assembly a more rigid mount the exposure to destructive vibration can be minimized.
