Talking Looking to Borrow a Porsche in the TN area

Ok, I admit, this is a way to informally invite all Pelican heads to my wedding and still stay on topic.

Ahem... I'm getting married (applause here) on the 21st of December in Cookeville, TN (about an hour east of Nashville).

I have always imagined driving away with my new wife in my 911.

Well, we are having the wedding in TN because of my fathers health (which has been a bit better recently ) and this takes my car out of the picture.

So, if anyone has a spare 911 they aren't using (preferably an SC, but i have spare badging i can install temporarily) please let me know.

Seriously, if anyone wants to come, just shoot me an email or something.

Anyone who laughs at the faggy grin on my face dies.

Leland:

That's only about about a 3.5 hr drive for us Atlanta Pelican Heads! Of course, I might get some funny looks from the locals in a Glacier Blue 911SC! But probably not as funny as the pic....oops I forgot about your warning! (insert laugh track here)If my family doesn't come into town it might be a fun trip up. Besides, you will need someone to take plenty of digital pictures for your website, right?

I can just picture it now. A perpetual porsche parade following the festivities. I'll consider it.

Leland;
I hope that you and your wife enjoy being married as much as my wife and I do. I can honestly say that I've never regretted it.

The grin will disappear once you're married

CONGRADULATIONS!!.. seeing as I'm 7-8 hours away and I don't have an SC I don't think I can make it.

BTW that's not a goofy grin.. that's a "I'm too happy to care" grin

Muhahahaha,

What a coup it would be for mid-year cars were you to use my gold '74 coupe from Arkansas! Muhahaha! It could be the official mascot car for a 'MYWDP'?! Muhahaha!

Seriously, though, congratulations on the wedding plans! I'm currently dating a girl from Memphis myself.

Leland,

Congratulations and all that. Weddings are great but what about the batchelor party?

Congrats! Would love to help you out - with a convertible SC no less - but I'm from Cleveland (Ohio that is). We have an inch of salt on the roads and my car is in pieces.

If you are honeymooning in Cleveland I'll be sure to get it back together in time!

Leland- If I can make it (got to check with my with wife) I will be happy to attend, you have an open bar right and I will let you drive off in my 78 SC Targa which is properly badged with a SCWDP decal.

Congrats on the marriage. I have been married for 5 years and our first child is on the way and I have loved every minute of it.

Congrats, Leland--I wish you all the best.

I'm sure you can rent a Porsche in Nashville--give it a shot. Find a fancy car dealer, or even speak with the local Porsche dealer about renting one of his used cars for a few hours. There's gotta be a Porsche dealer/fancy rental car place in Nashville, with all the C&W money knocking about.

Best of luck.
