Manual Heat lever

Hi All;

Thanks for the input on the Targa Fade-great suggestions.
I'll try a new one-
The manual level for my heater (1980 911SC Targa) used to work but recently does not. If I pull it all the way up, the heat does work but the lever no longer moves on its own accord. It will stay up if I pull it all the way up but will no longer stay in the middle position. In other words-It's TONS of heat or none!
Thanks all!

Check the cable that runs from the levers to the flapper boxes - make sure it's not broken. Also make sure that the flapper boxes open and close correctly when you pull the inside lever. It could be that one of the springs on the flapper boxes came loose and thus will not stay open.

Is it a case of the lever not staying where you put it. If so check the retaining nut on the lever spindle. There are a series of phenolic washers and a cone washer that create friction to hold the lever up. Tighten or replace the washers if they have worn.
