Looking for early exhaust

I did at one tiome put SSI and a monty dual in/dual out on my 73.5. Now I am tired of it. Too loud. WAY to loud. anyone know where I can find a factory exhuast for that car, or any other one that will quite it down. I'm keeping the SSI's so it will have to be able to fit w/ them
thanks!

I'm in a similar position with my '77. I have the SSI with a Bursch muffler 2 in 1 out but it is just a bit too loud. What brand name what anybody recommend for a stock type muffer?

What!? you really think the Monty is loud ?..... those words would never come out of my mouth. I think the Monty would be a great mediator between loud & quiet. anyhow .. I would say you could have my old early exhaust but i opened it up and removed all the baffling so now she is about as loud as a Monty.. but i run a GHL and boy.. lemme tell ya in neighborhood, you either love my car or you hate it.!
good luck .
Eric

Stock muffler will do the trick. Stock sound and decent flow with 2in/1out. Try to find a used factory muff in good shape, they are really expensive new, I think, but usually last forever and 3 days. Good luck.

I do hear the Monty are not "that" loud, but it's too loud around town for me. Fine on the track, but I would like something quiet but have no idea where to get that. I would rather hear the "whirring" of the fan at this point than the engine..

I have a stock Porsche/Bischoff 2in-1out muffler with my SSIs, and I guarantee you, it will do the trick. I used to have a Monty, and while it is not as loud as several other mufflers I tried, it still was overbearing for me around town as it is for you, so I know what you are talking about. And friends standing from outside my car frequently commented about how loud it was. While the a stock Porsche muffler is a little more restrictive than the Monty, it is no louder than a stock car. Denis has also heard my car knows what he is talking about.

Looks like a factory muffler it is. Who makes factory??
I have heard an "L" name, dansk, and now bischoff. I have searched Ebay. Will the factory unit bolt right up to my ssi's??
What year mufflers will fit?? 69-89??

I have an OEM style Dansk on my car that has no more than 500 miles on it. I may trade for a monty if your unit is in nice shape, or sell it outright!

Email me if intersted!

For what its worth, I find the Bursch I have to be maybe louder than the Dansk, but lower in pitch.

I am having absolutley NO luck with this search. I have checked all the regular channels but no luck. All I find is Ansa and Dansk which I hear are a bit louder than stock . No Bischoff in sight. Anyone know where there is one laying around??

Leistritz, Dansk, and Bischoff were (or are) OEM muffler suppliers to Porsche. Not sure which company won the current low bid.... but for a 2 in system I think Dansk it the way to go currently. I m sure Pelican can get you one if you want.

i will have a duel in/ single out muffler available in a few weeks. it is currently on ssi's so it would be a bolt on with no mods. i also will have a factory muffler that has a duel outlet welded into it forsale.

You just need a stock 2-in-1-out muffler? That should be no problem if you don't mind used parts- I think my wrench has 3 or 4 just sitting in a corner, heck I've got one too. Call Parts Heaven or one of the similar junkyards, they'd be glad to get rid of one.
