bilstein oil leak query
I got a small oil weepage that looks to be around the roll pin area on my bilstein shock (SC). Where is the cause of this leak? I can't imagine the roll pin is supposed to be an oil seal.
Thanks Alan

On Bilstein struts the shaft points down. The little "cutout" on the small shaft is what the roll pin engages. If you've got weepage there, there's likely a lot more oil that's blown out sitting in the bottom of the strut housing.

right - thank you. So it appears the strut is leaking and oil pooling in the bottom of the housing. Hmm. I have sent this strut out for rebuild/service twice before for this issue. They tell me there is nothing wrong with it.
Thanks Alan
