WTB 1980s Porsche Design Steering Wheel
Hello, I'm looking for this specific steering wheel. I've seen it listed here and elsewhere intermittently but can't find it at present. PM me if interested. Thanks!

I have one, but reluctant to sell. I looked for 3 years to find it. What price range to value them at?

I paid double of those prices.
I love it and will be happy to keep it. I think you will find out how rare these are. |

I've just started looking so this is good information. Paying market price is not an issue.

It's a nice wheel but $800+? Not worth it in my opinion. The round spokes seem out of place in that car too.

For anyone considering paying top dollar for this wheel, you should be getting a leather horn pad and a Porsche Design horn button like the ones in this photo, otherwise, you're buying an incomplete kit.

That answers a question of mine, I feel as if the horn pad is missing more often than not. Anybody have one laying around? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I think it would fit well in my 3.2. Finding a good wheel has been hard, prototipo seems too vintage and most modern Momo wheels are too modern. This particular PD wheel hits the right era for my car in my mind. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I totally agree, the Prototipo look too racey for my cruiser. I was told they only made 1000 of these wheels in the mid 80's. Much more rare than the early Momos that are bringing big bucks. I bought the glossy one with box from UK. Later found an NOS complete in flat finish. Much preferred for my M491. I love these wheels, thats why I bought two. I would NEVER use that fugly foam horn cover, it was an after thought for safety standards.

Obviously you have never looked in the classifieds LOL
FEELER... Any interest in a Momo "Porsche Design" Steering wheel? If you are patient they do come up, and depending on how complete they are usually around $500. In days gone by, or rather eighteen months ago they used to hang around on parts F/S but since the hobby became so monetized they have suddenly become popular. At 380mm dia with a thick grip, they're a good alternative to the Carrera 'Fatty'. |

What an amazing steering wheel. I had a pristine one that I would occasionally swap in to my Audi 4000 CSq. Sold long ago, but you are correct, it would be perfect in a 3.2 Carrera.
The no exposed stitching thing is pretty magical. My only concern is how / where one could get that redone / restored nowadays. Good luck with your quest. I never should have sold mine. I also had a PD Arc1 key ring that I would like to use for my '88 Carrera key nowadays. |

Don't all leather wheels start matte and then get glossy with usage / wear? I don't think "glossy" is a feature.

This thread belongs in the classifieds, or maybe the market discussion forum, not the tech forums.

No way any Gloss goes to Matte on a Momo PD steering wheels.
Obviously I have them both in front of me. |
