Frunk blower motor preventive maintenance

So trying to be proactive in maintenance on the front fresh air blower of my 83 SC. Today I removed it from the car for a brush and bearing inspection. First problem is that the squirrel cage is pressed onto the motor shaft and I would like to remove it so that I can get to the front motor bearing. Has anyone removed this part and if so how did you do it. I'm more than a little concerned about cracking it in the process of removal. The motor is quiet and the brushes look good so like I said I'm being proactive cause I know they are expensive to replace. Warren

There's a hole in the cage for oiling. Just do that and put it back, don't fix what's not broken etc., is my advice

I saw the hole and figured that was what it was for. Thanks for the advise.
