Front Control Arm and Bushing Angles
 

I have done a lot of searches on Pelican but cannot find the answer for this . Is there an answer to what angles these two bushings should be set at? I stole this photo from an earlier post. I am asking in regards to a 1976 911. Thanks.

Can't remember but I think it is approx 30 degrees...hold on a bit and I will find it for you. Been about 6 years since I did mine.

Any idea on the rear, I saw one thread that suggested maybe 15-16.

I think rear is 20 degrees.
I used this video when I did mine from Elephant.

Ok based on the elephant racing video it looks like the rear is 15-16 degrees and the Front is 20. The other thread you noted was showing 32-37 degrees on the front but the rear is 30 degrees but that does not look like it has the arm to the ball joint at zero so I am going to confirm those numbers but I am inclined to use the elephant racing angles. Thanks for the input. The spring plate calcs are going to help also.

Yeah, I remember getting a lot of conflicting info when I did mine...I went with the Elephant video and had no problems with reassembly.

I am currently at the rear of my car just finishing the strip down of the suspension and next up is the front. Unfortunately it may take me a few weeks to begin with but I will measure the angles on my car and let you know. I have some Superpro bushes to go on and was going to position them as per the Elephant Racing video anyway.

Not sure if you are doing the rear suspension too but I just tried the link (from Ben) to the spring plate angle calculator and it's accurate to mine which I just removed yesterday.:D

What angle did you set yours to? I have Superpro bushes to fit and I cannot decide weather to set them to the figures from Elephant Racing or set them to these figures in the photos??

I just did this a month ago and did lots of reading before hand. The general theme was to follow the ER video or paper instructions. I did this and the reassembly went well.

Thanks for the response. I would be inclined to go with the angles you came up which are close to the ER guidelines. I pretty much did that as well. I still need to set my ride height etc and see how all this lines up but I have a lot of work on the car to do before I get to that point. Thanks for the input.

Bushings
 

I have always installed factory type rubber bushings at the angle they will
be at when the car is at ride height. This way they aren't constantly tourqued.
Curious why anyone would put preload into them?

That makes a lot of sense I guess the question is what are those angles for a stock setup? Do you know.

I'm assuming-not always good- that we are dealing with stock type
bushings here and that you likely not going to vulcanize them back
on the arms which gives some fudge factor.
At a Euro ride height the arms are nearly horizontal so just install the bushings
accordingly Since they aren't bonded they will slowly creep to there
happy zone.
