Bay Area shop recommendations for electrical work
Looking for a shop in Northern California to install new electrical harnesses into a 72 chassis that was stripped. I live in the Bay Area but am open to other places in Northern Cal like Sacramento or even Reno if it's cost efficient and the required expertise is there.
I realize there are a lot of excellent shops in the Bay Area but not as many shops have expertise in restoration and installing electrical components, so trying to narrow the search to these specialty shops. Has anyone used a shop in Bay Area or Northern California or even Reno to install a wiring harness? If so, let me know how it went in terms of time frame and costs. Any leads are appreciated. Thank you. Last edited by MST0118; 02-07-2016 at 10:28 AM.. Reason: incomplete |

I'd suggest Tom and the guys at Deutsche Motor Sport in Concord. Close to Lafayatte.

Hopefully it is ok to ask a related question.
I am relatively handy, but my soldering skills leave a lot to be desired. Not great on a bench, I don't even want to try for in situ wiring. Anyway, I'm in SF. 1988 Carrera. Any suggestions on where to have my radio wiring harness and speaker leads "repaired" / soldered on the vehicle? Here is the wiring I would like to have solderered back onto the original harnesses... ![]() ![]() |

Probably easier to crimp splice and shrink tube around splice.

Oh, it would definitely be easier to do so, but man do I ever despise crimped electrical connectors. So sad, considering adapter harnesses are available for like $10 that would have left the OE wiring intact.
