Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone used covers to protect their seats. Mine are linen which is a light tan and they get dirty very easy. They are in great condition, but I am afraid they will not be if I do not use covers. Is their any downfall to seat covers? Oh, my seats are leather. If anyone uses covers, where did you get them? Thank you in advance.

I have seat covers from okole. They are made from wetsuit material so they breath and they are cool in summer, warm in winter.
I have been very happy with them ------------------ Jerry '86 carrera coupe [This message has been edited by jester911 (edited 10-07-2001).] |

I use sheepskin from Blue Ribbon in Calif. You lose maybe 1/2in in head and side clearance. Cool in summer, warm in winter. Aircraft pilots use them because less vibration transfered to pilot, maybe 40%. I love them with my plastic bushings and club sport eng/tran mounts.

I figured that I bought those leather seats, so it's going to be my butt placed in 'em. That said, I clicked on this post hoping you meant "seat covers" as in trucker CB lingo...As in: "Hey Harvey, check out the seat covers in that Mustang about to pass you. Man, that mini skirt goes all the way up to...."

I have the Okole and they are almost maintenance free and are almost indestructible compared to sheepskins. Sheepskins are awesome; they deliver the advertised warm in winter and cool in summer. However, even the expensive ones that I normally buy ($250.00 ea.), they do not last long. Unless you have money to blow, they are great under your skin but bad investment. Mine never last more than 1.5 years. And dont forget to put up with the initial crap all over your suit the first few weeks from installation day; and last thing you should never forget is the smell of wet dog when the cover gets wet. ARF! ARF!
Contrary to the 2 upper replies, I find the Okole to be warm in the winter but NOT cool in the summer. Great with kids spills and roughness, though. But then again, do not listen to reptilian-me....I sweat profusely when it snows. [This message has been edited by cab83_750 (edited 10-08-2001).] |
