Values for 901 trans, gears and service work
 

I did a bit of searching and didn't see anything directly relevant. I probably should post this in the 914 section but the traffic there is so small I thought I might get more response here.

I'm in the process of taking possession of a 914 vintage race car a good friend built in 2012/13. He raced the car a few times in 2014 and then passed away from a rare form of leukemia :-(

The car currently has a stock 901 side shift trans. He had a local mechanic build up a 901 with better 3/4/5 gears for road courses and the mechanic is holding that box for me after tracking it down.

I'm curious as to what a good used 901 5 speed is worth as we are going to talk a potential trade as he wants a trans for a street 914 project.

Also, rough # of hours to swap in a set of gears and re assemble the trans.

What ratios are in the box? What else was replaced? LSD?
