Early Backdate in the SC Style

First post here, and first time Porsche owner. I've been spending altogether too much of my free time here over the past year. Great community and great resource. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute some as I learn.

I've always been a lover of the early cars. My father bought a light ivory T coupe brand new in 1970. That's always been my benchmark for style. But I'm also a child of the 70's and 80's, so I have a real soft spot for impact bumpers and blacked out trim and Fuchs. Something about that silver ring and black void in the middle, especially on a white car.

I've been looking at a lot of backdating threads and mostly what I see are two styles. RS/R and stock longhood. So, say I had a late year SC that I wanted to backdate, but done in the style that Porsche would have designed if they hadn't been forced to do the impact bumpers. In other words, a longhood with no chrome. All bright work elements the same as an early longhood , but black anodized. And in the case of the rear bumper guards, perhaps all rubber? Has anyone done anything like this? Crazy idea? I just can't imagine it would look bad.

So, all the shiny aluminum trim and chrome door handles in black? I would advise a darker color with the long hood. Silver, grey also works.
Would you be installing the deco trims on the bumpers ?
Paint the rear bumper guards body color

Yeah, I think the deco trim would be necessary. The issue would be rubber against the (black) Al portion might make it look too bulky.

I guess one could mimic this look for the deco trim at front and rear. I don't see shiny Al up front, but I do see it on the rear bumper.

I think the rear bumper guards would look good body color, but only if they also had rubber buffers over top. Sort of a hybrid between RS style and stock.

I guess the headlight bezels should be body color. I think black here would't fit as well.

So does anyone know of a car like this?

Patrick Motorsports in Arizona built this beautiful slate grey with black trim and wheels

Thanks for the pic. That definitely gives a hint of the look, but still too racy for my taste.

So after a little poking around the internet I found something very close to what I've been brainstorming. I think the only chrome on this is the decklid grille. I'm not crazy about the black headlight bezel, but this car has answered my question. Black trim on an otherwise stock longhood looks pretty dang good.

Also found a 356 in the "late SC" style by the Emorys.
