What tires for the Zeuffenhausen/Fikse/Fuchs wide body 17x9 17x11

My Fikse/Fuchs should be shipping out soon. I have a 911SC w/Turbo flares. I see there are allot of options for tire widths. I'm thinking of 245 fronts 285 rear. I do not want the HUGE 275/315 combo. My concern is more towards the fronts, should I run 40 or 45 series? Obviously don't want to rub. I'm thinking 245/40/17 and 285/40/17. Any help would be great, thanks guys!

I have 245/40 on my fronts now and have good clearance. I previously had 245/45 fronts and it was too big. It rubbed the front AC lines and just looked bulky.

When I was searching for tires it was hard to find a matched set in the right size. I ended up 245/40 and 275/40.

What offsets did you get?

285/40/17s are hard to find and are an inch taller than stock OD, just FYI (almost 26" tall). For the front 245/40/17 is a no brainer at ~24.7" OD, but there are slim pickin's in 17 above 275 width. Even the 275 is ~0.6" taller than stock, and would be stretched on an 11J wheel.

Love those wheels and look forward to pictures of the tires mounted, whatever you go with!

I have been thinking a lot on this, I am probably going to get the Rota Fox RSR rims in 7.5 front 9 rear 17 inch with 225/45-17 (Front) & 255/40-17 (Rear) . 25 inch OD all around, light weight, and with under 200 HP at the crank , a lot easier to push around than the 9s and 11s. Not to mention the rims alone are $3500 cheaper than the wide ones and tires that fit will be available for at least another decade. Yeah I will have to run spacers but I'm ok with that. Once I have 300 hp at the wheels I'll start thinking superwides but until then, I can't afford the ante.

not really sure of the offsets, as I just ordered through Alan at Fikse and told him what I was dealing with. I know the 930 turbo and a flared narrow body cars are 2 different animals in the rear due to the trailing arms I assume.

Continental makes a 245/40 and a 285/40 but obviously would prefer the Michelin BUT the PS2 only offers a 225/45/17 front and a 275/40 rear. These are the tires Singer Design uses on the same Fikse 17x9 17x11 wheels. The front isn't even within Michelin specs as the max wheel size for the 225/40/17 is a 8.5. I had the same Singer wheel sizes and Michelin sizes on my 930 slant (see images) and wasn't happy with the "ricey" look. It just wasn't enough tire in my opinion.

Tires ordered, I ended up going with Continental ExtremeContact DW 245/40 17 fronts and 285/40/17 rears. Overall diameter fronts 24.7 rears 26.

In honor of my new wheels and tires being inbound, these must go!! GREAT deal.
Take the wheels and tires off my hands

This guy is running same sizes 245/40/17 fronts 285/40/17 rears .....LOVE the rears!
