LeMans Classic on Speed
I just caught the hour special on Speed TV covering the LeMans Classic from earlier this fall.
While there weren't any specific features on Porsche they did show quite a few 904's, 906's, 910's and 911's at speed on the track. Unfortunately they didn't show any of the 917 or 908's which were there. All in all it was a decent show and there was quite a collection of cars there. I can't remember the last time I saw 2 Alfa T33's racing side by side! If you are interested in catching this it is on again Sunday at 5pm and then again at 11pm (both EST). BTW, there were only 2 NASCAR commercials during the broadcast ![]()

It was nice to see Alain DeCadenat as an interviewee rather then the interviewer. I didn't know that he competed in 15 Le Mans!
BTW - The commentater needed some coaching in identifying Porsches. He identified a 910 as a 906 Carrera 6 and a Yellow LWB 911 as having won a number of races in '67 through '69.

Thanks for the heads up. For those of us who missed it the Le Mans Classic show will be on again on 12-13 (7pm & 12am), 12-26 (12pm), and 1-3 (12pm). Now (rant) why can't they give us Goodwood?

Glad you liked them - I was particularly pleased with the ones taken at night of the 904 and GTO.
It was a great trip for many reasons. Good weather. Fantastic cars. Access to all of the paddocks (and even pits on the day before) . Not too many crowds. The drive down through France with a TVR and Carrera on great roads. Doing laps of the full circuit after the races had finished with the French Porsche Club. I had a wonderful time and I'd recommend it to anyone. |

Oops, sorry Roy - I should have said great company and a nice comfy hotel room too ; )
Next one is 2004 unfortunately. Although I'm considering going to the main event next June. It's not quite as civilised as the Classic though. Cheers |

Wasn't hinting Stefan!
Probably worth letting everyone know that the girlfriend loved it too! Definitely a civilised way to spend a weekend and a great way to get a partner enthusiastic! If you have dates (even the month would do) I'll probably try and book a hotel now!
