Tangerine or Continental Orange

Folks it is time for paint.
Subject matter is a 1976 911S Eurospec with Turbo Flare Fenders.

The current paint code on the tag is 107 (continental Orange) which is the color of one of the layers on the car. Here is a picture of the multiple shades of color on the door. Black to yellow to green to orange to red.

Narrowed down the list to Continental Orange vs Tangerine.

I do have a preference but thought it would be fun to take a little poll and see what boils to the top.

Respond: Left for Tangerine
Right for Continental

Thank you.

Go Continental! Orange cars are relatively rare, and if you have an original Continental Orange, go back original IMO. I like both colors.

From a fellow Continental Orange owner (verified through the paint code), that's how I'd go again in a heart beat. Really in intriguing color, many moods depending on the light.

Definitely keep it original color esp. a rare color like Continental Orange but then I'm biased!

Definitely go back to the stock color. Though tangerine is sweet, I think it looks better on a 914

After many many months of metal work my car is finally painted in its original Tangerine color. If it were originally Continental Orange I would have done that in a heartbeat. Both great, go original.

Another vote for the original Continental Orange here. Mine is Tangerine and I am happy with it and knowing that it is the original color makes me happier.

Continental.

I am no forensics expert, so I am perplexed as why there is no orange paint at the edge of the black paint. Shouldn't the order be orange (original)...then "black to yellow to green to orange to red?" Or was it taken down to bare metal before the black repaint?

Wow thanks for the great responses. More than anything you have all confirmed that I was making the right decision. My preference was the continental Orange but was still teetering on going with the Tanguerine. Continental it is.

As for the various colors. Our theory is that they primered in black at the factory, painted it yellow then changed it to Orange and shipped it like that. The Green is really confusing because that is only on the door unless it was door replacement. I have documentation for when it was shipped to the US from Germany in the mid 80's and homologated to US standards. At this time they added the turbo flares and painted it red which was the color when I purchased it. The really confusing part for me is the yellow.

The tag is continental orange but that could have been changed also later in life.

I too will be painting my 74 IROC clone orange but have never actually nailed down which color. Can someone tell me which color the orange IROC cars were painted?
