Polished grill for Ducktail - fitment question

Hello All,

I recently installed an EB Motorsport ducktail and purchased a polished 5 bar grill from Rennspeed.

The grill doesn't appear to fit the opening (too long).

The Rennspeed grill appears very flat and has been shaped to the curvature of the opening - do the grills need to be massaged prior to installation?

Has anyone had out of the box success with either a 3 or 5 bar polished grill? If so, which vendor?

Thanks,
Chris

Saw another post on this, maybe some could post some photos of what they have. A photo of your situation would help,as well.

I think that most of the fibreglass duck tails are made for the later plastic grills aren't they??

Example: Getty duck with factory 3 bar metal '68-'69 grill painted black. AIRC, only had to drill mounting holes to fit.

Mine is a Getty like the one picture above and my stock grill from the MY1974 inserted in directly with no problems. Granted it's not shiny, yet has a wonderful patina and looks period correct.
