Rear seat speaker shelf repair
Wonder if anyone has advice as to how to go about repairing/replacing the rear interior shelf? (read: not how to remove but the process/parts for repair)
Mine is badly warped and cracked.... sure I'm not the first. Does someone make a replica shelf I can wrap? |

I've been wondering about this too. The original material seems to be a very stiff cardboard. Double thick or thicker (if available) matte board might be the closest thing. Or 1/8" hardboard is possible, but will be tricky to make the folds/bends.

Our host carries a rear panel: Porsche 912 (1965-1969) - Panels & Doors - Page 4
I recovered my '65 panel, pretty easy. As far as making a panel...hardboard or plywood door skins. For the hinge part (I really don't know), maybe multiple layers of fiberglass re-enforced tape?? |

Recovered my 82's shelf without much trouble. You can use what's there as a template. My board was repairable, just a lot of tape and hammering to flatten it. Upholstery vinyl cut to cover, using original vinyl as reference of where cuts go. Looks much much better. A little foam between the vinyl and the panel hides a lot of bumpiness.
