look like they were painted all black except for the lip...just curious about those.

nice car...definately keep us posted

My car's wheels are similar - the PO says they were 16s off a 77? I'm still not sure if I want the paddles polished or not. I think with white letter tires they would look awesome.

When I got the car the kids across the street came over to check it out - "Man, those wheels are tight!"

slammed1000,

Are those 18" wheels aftermarket? They look similar to the 18" Sport Design wheels on the 996 but I do not see the bolts on the lip. Just curious.

ischmitz, they are aftermarket...they do resemble the factory 996 wheels. well i got the motor pulled today and ready for the 3.0 liter to go in...i just have to wait until kevin gets it out of his car so that i can start on putting it all back together.

Look great!

Love the color, so what if it is not factory, YOU like it.

The wheels and the whale tail are a great look on a long nose car. Something just alittle different then the rest of the crowd, good for you!

Looks like you are going to have a great "Hot Rod" when your done, have fun and plese keep us updated.

Funny thing...

A local paint guy used Mercedes "Bright Silver Metallic" on his '82 SC. He has since repainted 4 other 911's in the same color including a new 996.

The color is so stunning on a 911 he gets stopped regularly by Porsche owners asking about the color.
