Question Seeking Passenger Side Mirror

Ebay RHS Mirror

I am seeking a passenger side mirror for my '77 Targa, ideally Guards Red but I will paint it if necessary.

Ebay has one from an '88 that looks like mine but there is no part number.

Is this one the same as '77?

Do you know the years that the '77 deisgn mirror was used?

How hard is it to add power mirrors? I never see manual mirrors for sale on ebay.

No Power for me

I don't plan to power the RHS mirror. It doesn't often need adjustment with only one driver.

Guy over on the Pelican 991 Parts Classifieds has a left and right electric flag mirror, guards red. I think they are still for sale. Look here: For sale : Guards Red Right & Left flag mirrors for '74 to '91 911...

I have a set of SC style electric mirrors that PO put on but then did not hook up. All the wiring etc are still new in package. I'll sell (for a very nominal fee) all to you if I can determine if going back to the original square stainless mirrors will cover up the holes in the sheet metal.

Are there any replica mirrors of the flag style mirrors or even the arero mirros. It just seems the factory flag style are very expensive even for the manual ones. I've been keeping my eye on ebay for mirrors (which do come up quite often) but they are all electrical... Can you manually adjust the electrical mirrors by hand? (I know on some cars you can but others you can't)

Kurt,

The LHS mirror in the ad is '74 - 86 but the RHS (which I need) is '87 - '91. That won't work for me.

Our host sells a kit (without glass) that fits '74 to '84. If this is correct, then, Jamul74, the SC mirrors and the ('74-'75?)chrome mirrors should fit in the same holes. The kit is $592 plus anoth $76 for the glass. That's why I am looking for used.

Crashr, try adjusting your LHS mirror manually. That will tell you if you can get by without the motors on the RHS. Out host has '76 - '89 RHS housing only for $192 plus $76 for glass plus painting.
