Stereo choices

I have both a Monterey SQR 23 and a Reno SQR46 and I'm trying to decide which to put in my 86 Carerra. Can anyone knowledgeable in stereos give an opinion on which one I should use and why? Also, do I need anything more than the stereo cage that surrounds the stereo to enable installation? I have the correct harness.

If the pushbuttons in the Monterey haven't failed yet, they will. No idea what the contacts in the Reno look like but I'd pick that one, because surely it won't be worse than the Monterey.

put whichever you like as far a the looks .. hook up 12v hot and ground ...

then work in a hidden radio/media devices under the seat and utilize the performance of a modern stereo the will sound better than it looks ..( IE hidden .. w the factory showing)

Can someone tell me if I need anything other than the stereo holding cage that surrounds the stereo and the harness to correctly install this Blaupunkt in my Carrera..

Bolt a rear mount onto the firewall to support the back end of the unit.

I had this support under the crappy aftermarket radio when I installed the Becker/Porsche box from the later 993's. Becker CR-210.

Support looks factory. You can see the Becker cage as well.

JR will know.
