G50 conversion help
Hi
I am planning a G50 conversion in my 81 SC. I need to know if a 964 or 993 pedal assembly will fit into my 81? Thanks

Not without extensive modification and even then I do not know if it will work. I was sent a 964 G50 pedal assembly instead of a 87-89 pedal assembly and they are completely different. The 87-89 box is a direct replacement, the 964 box is not.

So how different are 87-89 G50 gearboxes and 964 G50 gearboxes?

964 G50 gearboxes have a "long nose" and 87-89 G50's have a short nose. To fit a 87-89 short nose G50 to an 86 or earlier 911 or 930 the bell housing and main shaft must be shortened by approx 1 inch. A 964 G50 will not work unless you replace the long nose piece with an 87-89 short nose and shorten the bell housing and mainshaft approprietely.
