Jack Olsen mentioned a $300/year agreed value coverage specifically for DE events from American Collectors Insurance.
The $300 premium bought $20K agreed value in CA.

I contacted ACI to see if we could get this program in VA. Here's what they said:

'Currently our Driver’s Education auto physical damage program is available in 9 states, and unfortunately Virginia is not one of them. The program is about 1 year old now, and we are currently examining it carefully to see what states we want to approach next. The process is a lengthy one, as it has to be approved by each state’s department of insurance (insurance falls under individual state’s jurisdiction, not federal). We realize that there are many people in VA that would love the program, and are definitely taking that into consideration!

Guess the more interest we show, the more likely they are to offer VA coverage, right?

Tony, it sounds like we need to mobilize the NoVA & WeVA Pelicanheads to make this happen. You know, all of a sudden I've developed an overwhelming urge to DE.

Update - My response from American Collectors Insurance was, word for word, identical to yours.

C'mon NOVA, MD & WeVA guys......we need an email campaign to get some attention from ACI!!

Remeber - ask the question early and often. We need to let them know how much business there would be for a polic like this in our states.

Tony - it has taken me a few nights between bottle feedings to catch up on my Pelican reading and I just saw this thread now.

Give me a day or two and I'll send an e-mail to everyone on my Fun Run distribution list so we can jump start this campaign.

That company has no idea what they are in for now that us NoVa Pelicanheads are on the case

I'm also trying to enlist the PCA Potomac guys in VA.
Aim is to get this done in time for next season.

Don't worry - we will all get the same email response from Brenda at ACI. The key thing is that she sees a large number of VA residents interested in seeing the coverage available in VA. That should do the trick.
