Leaving the hoses in place really only serves as a useful template for routing the new, non-barrier hoses if you or a subsequent owner ever wants to make it work. The old ones are likely garbage at this point. But having done a hose replacement, I can testify that is a significant benefit. Routing the hoses without some already in place -- especially through the firewall -- would have doubled the PITA factor of what was already time consuming, grungy job.

If you do remove them, I would leave the mounting brackets in place -- both to assist in any subsequent re-installation, and to keep water out of the screw holes that will be left behind.

I would keep the compressor bracket, condenser, evaporator, etc. The compressor is probably not worth keeping, as unless you are a stickler for originality, an updated compressor (Sanden, etc) is much preferable to the York.

The COA indicates no AC, so this was dealer installed.
Every lower dash tacked on vent system I have ever seen has always reminded me of the old Ford systems, cheap and an afterthought.
The entire mess is now off, and the car is back to correct. I live in North Idaho where we needed AC once in 1966, and another day somewhere in the late 90's (ok not that bad, but close!)
IF an AC was needed to be put back in this car, the console vent system with upgraded components like Tony V posted would be the way to go.
I will keep all of the parts on the shelf, for now.
Thanks for all of the input, all of it was helpful. In the end, I needed the car to be the way I think it was intended to be.
Now to find the correct NON AC lower dash trim. Any help there?
