Bosch coil confusion

I am replacing my coil with an OEM Bosch model from this forum's sponsor--(I had an MSD blaster on it and recommendations I read stated it might be bad for the Motronic).

Anyway, I got it in the mail and noted that it was the silver one that is apparently the dreaded Brazil model. So, I checked the Ohm measurements like it states in the Bentley manual and everything measures dead center of normal.

When I went to install it though, I noticed that the positive terminal is larger than the negative terminal and the little ring connector on the car isn't big enough to fit it.

Is that normal? Do most people just cut the little ring off and install a new ring connector to screw onto the positive terminal or is there something I'm missing?

The bosch silver coils, pre-carrera, were the ones i had trouble with. The black carrera coils seem to be loosing steam lately with a very poor spark, and hard or no start issues and the replacement silver coils seem fine... at the moment. all the carreras have large and small ends on the coli wires/coil terminals.

Ever have one of those moments where suddenly you realize that you are not nearly as smart as your parents hoped you would be?

So, after reading John Walker's comment, I thought, 'hmmm, I'm sure he's right, but something just doesn't seem quite right'. So, I went out to the car and sure enough, the little ring connectors are different sizes.

45 minutes of mental difficulty later--all I had to do was switch them. Doh!!!
