Rennline Battery Bracket Help

So I installed the Odyssey 925 battery today with the Rennline mount but IMHO the positive terminal looks awfully close to the inner fender. Am I worried for no reason or have others had the same concerns? There seems to be no other way to mount the battery without going the route of longer cables. I have also done a long search and cannot find a photo of this battery mounted in a 1984-89 Carrera yet lots of threads where people recommend this.

Thanks for any suggestions. Right now my thoughts are to try and cover the positive terminal in some way.

Here is a photo of how close it is, about half an inch or so:

Looks similar to mine, which has been that way for a bit over 4 years now. If the battery is solidly mounted, shouldn't be an issue.

Arne,

Thanks for the photo that makes me feel a lot better. I will cover my positive terminal like yours and stick a small piece of rubber or similar on the inner fender to be sure.

Update I found some window foam at Lowes and stuck it on the inner fender for extra protection. It will be hidden by the carpet and gives a bit more piece of mind. Also will add a wider washer to the front hold down allen bolt.

My terminals are on the inboard side.
Would that be possible with the reversed terminals
