As far as the interest rates, used car lots generally don't have ultra low rates. I do totally agree about the negotiations. All the phases (purchase price, trade in, financing) should be totally separate. |
Just this past July I bought an '86 Carrera coupe w/ 92,xxx miles for $18,500. This car was nearly perfect cosmetically except for the usual stone chips on front. Perfect interior. Recent tranny rebuild and new clutch plus a good number of records and a good PPI. It also came with extras: track wheels and tires, custom car cover, bra, extra set of track brake pads. The guy who owned mine put alot of money into it before my purchase.
The market in Minnesota was pretty similar to what I'd imagine St. Louis is like; a few Porsches around but you don't see them everyday. With the market what it is today I would say about $17k ought to be a decent price for a nice '86 w/ good PPI. Good luck! |
The PPI was today and the car got a great review. He said out of the 10-12 ones he has seen, this was the first or second best as far as general condition. No leaks, int. was perfect. Needs a few minor things but overall in great shape.
I am going to buy it tomorrow. Tonight will be like Christmas as a child. I can't wait to wake up. Mark :D :D :D :D |
Mark,
Congratulations on the clean PPI. Enjoy the car and post pics! Jeff 73.5 T |
