1969 911T TARGA for $1000

Do U ever get the feeling that U should turn down a street........well that happened yesterday. i was driving along about 2 miles from home and decided to turn down a street I don't usually go down......When I spoted it in a garage all covered with dust. The owner happened to be out front putting up the Christmas lights, so I stopped to talk to him.

He had been looking for a project car and had just gotten a Black 1969 911T Targa for $1000.00. The car has been in storage in California since 1976, and has 60,000 miles on it. Orginal paint with one small rock dent under the left front light, otherwise just has scratches from years of stuff being piled on it. Interior is orginal and clean, the dash doesn't even have a crack. No rust as being a California car in storage. Engine had the plugs pulled out years before so the condition of the engine is iffy. Most of the suspension bushing have also dried out. The orginal radio had also been been replaced, but otherwise is still in stock condition.

So NAY SAYING boyz there are still deals to be had out there for Early Cars.....

OK - I'll say what everyone is thinking. April Fools isn't for another few months.

So did you buy it? Do you have any pictures?

Chris Campbell is fond of saying they are all $20k cars (ie you spend it up front or over time for the same condition)...

But this does sound like a good base for a <$20k car!!!

I agree with there are deals out there. They usually have to be ones that a friend of a friend type of deal.... A year ago October, I bought a 1974 911 coupe (100%original) and in really nice shape with a few small rust spots for $2K. I drove it home about 50 miles. It had been sitting since 1998. I still cant believe I made it home. Anyhow thats my story and I am sticking to it.

True story, but the thing I didn't say was it was an inside deal. The guys NEW brother in law wanted to get rid of the thing. So he basically gave it to him. Like U said it will turn out to be the 20K 69 911T...........
