removing broken off spark plug boot still in head

HELP! In removing plug wires I've got a couple that the actual terminal end of the plastic plug wire tower broke off when I pulled on them to remove them - so they're still trapped on top of the spark plug down in the head - and the piece still on the end of the spark plug is too big to get a plug socket over!! I found a plug boot puller (very neat device BTW) - but its jaws just aren't long enough to get all the way down in there and grip onto the broken off end that remains firmly attached to the top of the plug.

The ones that did come out clean - no signs of corrosion, electrolysis, pitting, or anything else - and they didn't take excessive force to pull off - just some came out clean and complete, some failed (right above the actual plug terminal molded inside the connector)

Anyone been able to do this - without dropping the engine?????

Use a long drywall screw or something similiar and screw it into the plug if you can then pull out with pliers.

hemostats or long nose pliers and just work at it pulling or crushing. Have a mirror & a light, and consider shop-vac'ing when done and before you remove the plug.

Take the valve cover off, makes easier access

GREAT idea!!!!! had no idea why this didn't even cross my mind - but that's why this forum - and y'all - are out there!!!!!! It's easy to do with engine in car, and the entire plug well is both visible and accessible - FANTASTIC!! Appreciate it!!
