Ignition switch wiring question

Hi. I'm trying to sort out the connections to the ignition switch in my '69 912. I've undertaken this repair because certain items, like wipers and lights, are active at all times. The switch has 5 terminals. Going clockwise, they are 15, 30, Pa, 50, and 54.

My questions are these:

Should Pa be active ever? Mine is not regardless of the position of the key.

Should turning the key to the position one click left of stop do anything? Mine does not.

What is the difference between 30 and 54? They are both active with the key in the run position. The only difference I can tell is that 54 shuts off momentarily when the key is turned to the start position. 30 stays active when the key turns to start.

Given the behavior of 30 and 54, are there some items that should be connected to one versus the other?

My eneducated guess is the switch is faulty. Pa should activate with the key in the leftmost position. True?

Thank you all for any information.

Steve
