Pelican Parts Prototipo Wheels Are Here at Pelican for $199 each

I should have a bunch in tomorrow (limited availability though). $199 is the price for everyone.

Part number MO-PROTOTIPO. You probably have to call tomorrow to get one, as they won't be in the catalog yet.

I expect them to almost sell out, so if you want one, then you'd better get one now.

This is the same wheel that MS Road and Race is selling for $375, and also the same one that Performance currently has on sale for $299.

We'd like to remind people that we don't like to gouge our customers...

Wayne, I'll back you up on this one, and give you some good advertising. It took me a year to find a deal on Ebay.... $180 for Prototipo. You're selling them for not much more.... $199. It is true the prices you quoted with the other folks selling them. I too think they are outrageous.

So all you people who really want one of these wheels for a great price.... go get 'em. I really like mine. It's period looking, feels incredible in the hands, and just plain goes with the overall looks of my RS replica.

I'm done preaching.

Wayne or anyone else:

Does the $199 price for the wheels include the hubs?

Thanks.

Momo = Sparco

Just called in my order with Thomas at Pelican.
According to Thomas the Sparco hubs are made by Momo therfore they are compatable with the Momo Prototipo wheel.

The wheels are here!

The Prototipo supposedly uses the same adapter as the regular wheels. The price of $199 is for the wheel only - does not include the price of the adapter.

Sparco doesn't make adapters - it's the other way around. The Momo adapters will fit the Sparco wheels.

$199, get them while I still have them in stock!

Just ordered mine. Was told they would physically be at Pelican for shipping in the next day or so.

Wheel - $199.00
Adapter - $53.00 or so.

A great deal!

Check the board for a post from yesterday or the day before. I believe the thread was "Momo Prototipo Wheel". Skinnerd posted a great photo of the one he just purchased.

(Sorry, I found the thread but don't know how to do the nifty "click here" to direct you to the thread)

Thomas called me yesterday afternoon to let me know the wheels were on-site and would be shipping. Thanks for the great service - I can't wait to get the wheel.

Sparco vs Momo hub

I'm going through this right now. Ordered a Sparco wheel and was recommended a Sparco (made by Momo) hub. It fit the wheel but there was a 1/4" gap all around the hub where it fit on the steering column, you could see down into the column. Dealer checked the diff between Sparco and Momo hub and said the Momo was apx. 1/2" larger. He's sending me a Momo to swap w/ the Sparco.

By the way, the Sparco wheel advertised that it's dish was 35mm but by my measurement it only had apx 20mm of dish. Since I wanted the end result to be a wheel closer to the seat I'm having to add a 2" spacer also since the Sparco wheel/hub combo was CLOSER to the dash than the stock wheel was!!

BTW, per another's recommendation I used a different vendor than our host so they are in no way involved w/ this hassle.
