Help installing Mass Air Flow 3.2 DME

A buddy of mine gave me a deal on a Mass Air Flow system MFR by Autothority Performance Engineering.

Now I have to figure out how to install it. I assume the red wire goes to positive and the black wire goes to negative. The multipin connect can only go one place. From their, plug in the chip. Anything else?

red is not power, I have one so I will go and have a look for you and shoot a photo.

damn, it is on the race car, and it is under a car cover sitting out in the rain, so it is a no go. I do know the red needs to be spliced into the existing ignition wiring harness.

Hopefully someone else can help, sorry

What the Kit Consists of:

The mass flow sensor unit
High performance air filter assembly
All required mounting hardware
Performance software chip

The mass flow sensor is installed on the engine in place of the existing airflow sensor. The new air filter attaches to the sensor itself, eliminating the need for the bulky and restrictive factor air box assembly. A connector plugs directly into the
stock wire harness and the chip is a plug-in replacement for the stock chip in the ECU. The new chip is programmed with all of the changes that allow the existing the control unit to work with the new mass flow sensor. Installation is simple,
straightforward, and completely reversible

I'll call over there on Monday if you like and get the wiring diagram. They are in Fairfax which is where I work.

Jim, first off, I notice your kit came with a 24 pin chip. Hopefully that's what your DME box is. Secondly, if your DME is an 84 to 86 box, you will need to convert the box from a 2K brain to a 4K brain in order to read the chip. To do this a jumper along the chip on the board needs to be removed and relocated. Looking at the board, the jumper wire between B702 and B1 needs to be removed. Then B703 and B704 need to be connected by a wire.

Your kit should have with a premolded wiring harness connector. One end plugs into the MAF meter, the other end into the factory air flow meter harness. There is a red wire on the harness that requires a 12v source which is hot only when the key is in the ignition. Connect the red wire to the middle wire leading to the idle stabilizer motor.

There should be a 15 turn 10k potentiometer in the wiring harness located in the center of the wiring harness adapter. This is used to adjust the idle fuel mixture. With the O2 sensor disconnected, set the fuel mixture to about 1.25% CO before the cat. Going full clockwise takes you from lean to rich. Start with a presetting around 2200 ohms, equaling the internal resistance seen by the factory airflow meter.

Don't over-rev your engine (past that 6250 rev limit, I believe), as your rod bolts can't take anything more than that reliably...
