3.2 Liter Carrerea Tachometer Wiring

I sold a 911 Carrera tachometer out of a 1985 European Carrera. The back side of the tachometer is only showing 3 pins at numbers 2, 5 and 6. The fellow I sold the tachometer to and his mechanic can't find how to wire it. Can anyone on this forum help?
