Welp, bad news is I just got the order to go play in the desert with the wack jobs. But, I'm a soldier and it's what I signed up to do so no complaints here. I leave in 3 days.
Good news is with all the combat exemptions and hazard fire pay and tax free stuff the car can get the new paint she needs. I have just enuf time to stip all the interior out and I've worked it out with the paint shop where they promised to store the car inside for me till I come home. So, new paint, seats recovered by insurance after the break in, new Alpine head unit in exchange for the Sony they stole, and me tinkering away with all the other lil things has got her looking, or going to look, pretty stinkin sweet. I'm real happy I've got the car to this point. It's nice to see a project come together. I'll look out for Leyland over there and send him your support. He did go didn't he? Should be computers set up over there for us to get our emails on. Hope I can still keep up with the board. Still not received my 101 Projects book. C'mon Wayne I only have 3 more days here!!!! I'm going to have plenty of time for reading... no women or alchohol over there. You guys take care. Stay away from the Anthrax. I almost think y'all are in more danger than I will be. I'll post pictures of the new paint when I get home. ------------------ rj cilurso 87 911 targa |

rcilurso,
Good luck and take care. It's going to be amazing to come back to your car. If you need anything doing that I - or others, I'm sure - can do, let us know. Like, getting the shop to take photos of your car in progress, and us posting them here for you. ![]() Take care.... Anthony ------------------ '75 911S Targa '81 BMW Alpina C1 2.3 |

Good luck and be safe. Let us know your address and favorite poison. A bottle sent though the mail just might make it to you. I'd be happy to send one to you and Leland. If it worked, others on the board may be willing to send enough that you might even have some to share! Again, good luck and God bless.

As a retired AF person I only wish they would recall me...Brings to mind the statemnt made By General Chappie James when interviewed on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show. His statement; "I'm a warrior by profession with tools of mass destruction at my command. I do not wish to use these tools but if called upon to do so, I will do so to the best of my ability" (May not be exact quote but..) To all those warriors out there.... Go forth with my ultimate support and admiration. You go willingly in harm's way and for that you have my sincerest gratitude. Stay safe and God bless.
