Fuel tank leaking

Posted on the Turbo forum also.

I have a small fuel leak at the bottom center of my fuel tank where it has bottomed out and scraped in the past. I have been smelling raw fuel for a while but this is the first time I have seen a drop of fuel hanging from the area. Can I seal this with epoxy or JB Weld?

Radiator shop can look and tell you if repairable. They will fill it with water and weld it. You could try JB weld or just replace it.

Supermend Marine Grade Epoxy.
Used it on a fuel tank once... is impervious to fuel, oil, etc.
Very satisfied with it.
Check it out: 5330031 Super Mend 2 Part Epoxy Paste | Product Detail

Thanks for the info. I will drain the tank today and let it dry out for a day or two. Since I am dealing with a pinhole leak I believe I will try the JB weld on the leak then I may fab a skidplate to protect this area.

I have same issue

Hi, I have exactly the same issue as you, PO grounded the tank and a pin hole has appeared

Ive considered

1) Marine grade repair patch
2) Relpace with Dansk tank but has no filter, would need in line filter, but seems to be cheapest new tank available
3) Have mine repaired, local shop quoted $150 to braize up, pressure test and rubber line, seems to cheap to be true though as another specialist wants $600 to do the same thing

Im going to try to patch with sealant ASAP, if I can find one that works. I have a few friends who have boat repair businesses, if I get something that works will post, then sort it out properly in the fall/winter when its off the road anyway, good luck
