Pierburg fuel pump current draw of 12.5A...normal?

In a previous post I mentioned that I replaced the original Bosch pump with a Pierburg fuel pump om my '76 911S with CIS.

The original oxidized aluminum 16A fuse popped almost immediately. I then changed it out with a new copper strip 16A fuse and it has not blown.

Using a ammeter, the Pierburg is drawing 12.5A at idle. With a 16A fuse that doesn't leave much safety factor. Is this draw normal? Does anyone have a comparison value?

Thank you

is there a current draw on that circuit with the pump off.

if you can, disconnect the ground a or neg at the pump and check current.

No parasitic current draw at all.

Today I drove the car approximately 150 miles...no problem or distortion of the fuse. I'm calling this one done.

Thank you
