Classic 911 vendors NYC

Hi All!
I'm going to NYC in the beginning of May. Is there any vendors with a good supply of parts to 64-73 911s in the NYC area? I figured that would be a nice interruption of going shopping with my daughter!

Thanks for any input,
Jörgen Forssling

I can't think of any parts depot or reseller here in the NYC metro area. The closest I can think of is Weekend Rides, but he's out in Pennsylvania. You could check out Porsche Design on Madison and 52nd Street (? Or maybe 51st) for a sexy piece of luggage or time piece.

Look at it this way, how much will actually be left over for Porsche parts after you take your daughter shopping in NYC?

Sounds like a fun trip. Enjoy!

Thanks for your input. No I'm not looking for fitted luggage . More like a fan setup for my 2.2 litre! And you're right about the shopping daughter. It will be a long wait outside Victorias Secret. She's in NYC for the first time. That's why I need to look at something else.

ps. I'm also restoring a 66 VW bus and a couple of years ago I was in NYC with my wife she was pretty upset with me bringing pop-out windows and a steering wheel among other things, not leaving space for all the shoes she wanted!

Unobtanium Inc is in Ravena NY, closer to Albany. Even if you can't make it up there may be worth a call.

There's a repair shop in Elmsford, N.Y. about 30 miles north of the NYC.
Can't remember their name (google Porsche repair in that town)......don't know if they sell parts though.

Thanks guys! But I'm only in town for a week and the only longer trip we'll do is out Long Island for a day. At least that's the plan. Hmm that got me thinking, maybe I should surprise her with a trip to a Porsche shop !!! Maybe not...

You could go to Gullwing Motor Cars in Astoria.

Don't forget to stop by Rikers Island.

Paul Resnick who founded PAR passed away about 1 1/2 years ago but had given up the parts business 5 - 6 years prior.

When we were in NYC last summer on our way to the Intrepid air craft carrier we walked by a Porsche dealership. They won't have what you're looking for but you check it out anyway.

Go check out Classic Car Club of Manhattan. I think they might have moved but not too far.

If you're coming out to Long Island anyway DM me a list of what you need. I may have some items in my inventory.

Rennwerke Porsche in Elmsford NY is a great Saturday stop for coffee and check out the amazing cars that come and go. Cheech and Gasper are great guys and resources. Not too many parts but a great collection of dream cars.
Also Manhattan Porsche on corner of 26th and 11th.
Enjoy the city and make sure to take your daughter to Tribeca/ SoHo which is a great area for shopping and people watching.
Enjoy
Jim
